It is not yet clear how long Ronaldo will be on the sidelines for but Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus provided an update on the legendary forward who may be out for a number of weeks.

“After tests, we see the injury suffered by Cristiano Ronaldo was more serious than expected”.

“Cristiano will now travel to Spain, like other players who went for treatment when they were injured. His injury required treatment in Madrid with his personal therapist, and we hope he returns quickly and helps the team”.

The 41-year-old is looking to represent Portugal at a record sixth final in North America this summer which begins within the next 100 days.

With only 10 games remaining in the Saudi Pro League, Al-Nassr's side sit 2 points clear at the top of the table but could slip with Ronaldo’s absence weighing heavy on the club.

If Ronaldo’s injury is a grade one hamstring injury is a mild muscle strain or pull it should take between one and three weeks to heal.

However, if it is a grade two injury is when there is a partial tear to the muscle fibres it could take four and eight weeks to heal as fans await further updates.
