The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Gtech Community Stadium this summer, with Newcastle particularly interested.
Several reports have suggested that Wissa is pushing for that exact move, but Brentford are reluctant to sell another star this summer.
Andrews, who took over from now Spurs boss Thomas Frank earlier in the summer, has since admitted that Wissa is “not in that space” to be considered for their opening game against Nottingham Forest.
Speaking to press ahead of the game, he explained: “I have made a decision that he is not (available). It has been a very disrupted pre-season and the interest in Yoane is very clear.
“As head coach, I want Yoane to be in the building and be a part of the first team and the squad. But I am very understanding of his situation.
“I have a very good relationship with him and that will persist. But we have to focus on the players who are ready.”
