Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa admits the dressing room is bouncing as they continue their historic winning run.

Villa meet Arsenal tonight on the back of 11 consecutive victories - which matches a record set by the club 111 years ago.

Their 2-1 win at Chelsea on Saturday night saw manager Unai Emery’s 2025 side have matched the club’s achievements of 1897 and 1914.

The Villans have also now won eight Premier League matches in a row, last having a longer run in the top flight between October and December 1910 (nine).

Konsa smiled: “It’s always special creating history and I’ve been here for a long time, to create some history is an amazing feeling.

“And long may it continue.”

On the win at Chelsea, he also told VillaTV: “Very hard, it’s never easy playing away from home.

“First half we struggled to play our game, they made it difficult for us, we had to stay strong defensively, conceded one goal.

“But I feel this season, when we have gone a goal or two down, we haven’t dropped our heads, we’ve always believed and, for me, I know the qualities we have on the pitch.
