Former Arsenal captain and World Cup winner Patrick Vieira has revealed that Thomas Tuchel should drop Noni Madueke.

England were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Group L rivals Ghana at Boston Stadium on Tuesday night as they remained top of the standings.

Tuesday's fixture was the first game at the World Cup to not feature a shot on target from either team as England’s attack remained toothless despite the likes of Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka featuring.

However, despite so many players disappointing, Viera has latched on to Madueke who he believes does not offer as much as Saka when going forward.

“I still believe England will be in the semi-finals at least and maybe the final because this is a really good side.

“They didn’t find the keys against Ghana but they will learn from it and the manager will come with solutions if they play another team like Ghana.

“If England play teams like this again there will be a different approach and maybe different players on the field.

"When Bukayo Saka was on the field at the end he brought something different to Noni Madueke. But overall I’m not worried about England’s performance.”

While England boasted 78.8% possession, the Three Lions failed to create anything with the ball. Madueke’s performance did not justify not starting Saka who is likely to take his place in the next game against Panama.
