Spurs are currently in the process of appointing Roberto de Zerbi as new manager with the club sitting one point above the Premier League dropzone.
Asked about his old club's situation, Pochettino said at his USA media conference on Monday:“Yes, they can stay up.
"Of course, it’s a difficult time, but they have the capacity to win, with or without a new coach.”
Ahead of the USA's friendly against Portugal, Pochettino was also asked if there'd been contact with Spurs since Igor Tudor's dismissal.
“No talks. We are very very focused here on the World Cup," Pochettino said.
“Everyone knows that I have a commitment with the national team here. It’s not the point to talk about the future.
“No one approached me. But who knows what is going to happen.
“And by the way, we are open (to staying with the USMNT), why not if the federation is happy?”
