Tottenham captain Cristian Romero has seemingly taken a swipe at the club's lack of transfer activity following their 2-2 Premier League draw with Man City on Sunday (February 1).

Spurs were 2-0 down to Pep Guardiola’s side at half time only for a Dominic Solanke brace to split the points between the two sides.

Tottenham were without nine players through injury, with Romero, 27, also being forced off at half time and replacement by midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.

Despite their ongoing injury crisis, Spurs only added two new first team players, Conor Gallagher and young left-back Souza.

Clearly unhappy with the situation at the club, Romero took to Instagram to make his feelings known.

Romero captioned his post: "Great effort from all my teammates yesterday ,they were incredible.

"I wanted to be available to help them even though I wasn’t feeling well, especially since we only had 11 players available — unbelievable but true  and disgraceful.

"We’ll keep showing up and taking responsibility to turn this around, working hard and staying together.

"All that’s left is to thank all of you for being there and for always supporting us, the fans, @spursofficial."
