The 28-year-old has not featured since coming off the bench in Tottenham’s 2-0 Premier League win over Man City last month.
Solanke returned to training last week but continued to feel pain in his ankle, so has decided to go under the knife to help relieve the issue.
Speaking ahead of Spurs’ Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday (September 30), Frank confirmed the decision.
“Dom, you know, got that ankle issue that's been bothering him for a little while,” Frank said.
“So now we decided to make a minor surgery. It's a small procedure. So that will mean he's not ready (to face Bodo/Glimt), of course.
“And of course, Leeds he's out as well. We will have more news about time frame after the international break. But I don't expect it to be long.”
