He said his Portugal media conference: "In Tottenham, I've got chances I didn't have before. I feel full confidence in the people who wanted me to come to the club – in this case the manager.
"When you feel that trust and feel wanted somewhere, I think that's where you should be. It was a very easy decision for me.
"These chances allow me to show what I am capable of again. I am very pleased with the new challenge and just want to enjoy the Premier League fully."
