Thwaites made the bench for United's 1-0 win at Chelsea. He received the call after helping United win their FA Cup semifinal against Crystal Palace.

He told The Sun: “I was delighted.
“Obviously on Friday night I was concentrating on the game and getting the job done there, which we managed to do as a team.
“And then after the game, I was told I was on the bench for the first-team on against Chelsea, so I was over the moon.”
Thwaites added: “I’m just trying to learn as much as possible from the pros because that’s where you want to be realistically.
“Take in all the knowledge from them, so I really enjoyed it.”
