Liverpool manager Arne Slot has responded to Curtis Jones' comments on the club's poor performances as of late.

Liverpool's loss to PSV was the Reds' ninth loss in their last 12 games and was their third defeat to a 3 goal margin for a third successive game.  Wednesday's defeat marked their ninth defeat in just twelve matches across all competitions, a breathtaking decline for the Premier League champions.

Jones shows his frustration

Speaking after the game, Jones was vocal about how the club desperately needs to change as they sink further and further down the Premier League and Champions League table.

"I don't have the answers, I'm the same as everyone else. It's just unacceptable to be honest.

"I don't even have the words. I'm past being angry and sad. I'm at the point now where I just don't have the words.

"I'm playing from a player and a fan, and I'm seeing it like this. I haven't experienced a team playing this bad and getting results like this but at the end of the day we still have that badge on our chest and until that badge goes, we are always going to fight and try and get this team back to where this team needs to be.

"We need to show the whole world why Liverpool are the best team in the world, but as of now we are in the... and it needs to change."

Slot agrees with Jones

The 24-year-old academy product could barely contain his emotions once the game has finished, summing up how many fans feel themselves.

Slot, speaking in Thursday’s press conference, was asked what he thought about Jones’ comments and admitted that he believes his is on the same page.

"Really good if you bring it to the game, the players at least tried to do it yesterday. The running data was very high, but it didn't lead to anything in terms of results.

"I think what he is saying is that if we can bring this to the game as a team, the minimum we expect is that we fight. I think we are on the same page when it comes to how we want to get out of his situation."

Liverpool's Champions League campaign continues with fixtures against Inter Milan, Marseille and Qarabag. However, they first have three league games against Leeds United, Sunderland and West Ham United this weekend where Slot must win to save his job.
