Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has spoken to the press ahead ot their clash with Manchester United.

Forest beat United in both home and away fixtures last season and will be hoping to break their duck after losing six of their last seven Premier League games. Dyche has replaced Ange Postcoglou who replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in a club that looks to be spiralling at the moment.

Dyche says his Amorim comments were used as clickbait

Dyche was first asked about comments he made suggesting he could have won more games than Ruben Amorim as Manchester United boss in what was a controversial statement.

"I didn't question him as a person and I would never do that. Clickbait kills anything.

"I equally said I want managers to be given times and I said he should get half a season to continue what he's doing.

"I have maximum respect for all managers. I'm pretty sure his media department will have made that clear to him.

"The basics may have worked better was my suggestion and they have changed their style so fair play to him. Not necessarily their beliefs but their style.

"They are playing quicker forward and longer, a bit tighter in getting back into their shape. That's management, that's coaching.

"That doesn't mean he's changed his whole philosophy, it's adapting to what's in front of him so fair play to him. He's shown a bit of flexibility and they're getting results."

Team news

Next, Dyche gave some mixed team news ahead of the clash, including on striker Chris Wood who may return over the next few weeks.

"Woody is gonna be a possible for the Leeds game but isn't going to make this one. We will have to see how that one goes.

"Ola (Aina) is making good progress.

"(Oleksandr) Zinchenko is still a no at the moment. Unfortunately it is taking a bit longer than we thought.

"(Dilane) Bakwa is still a no but is making good progress.

"Angus Gunn has opened up his knee ligaments."

How are Forest adapting to Dyche?

The press then asked about how his side are adapting to his methods after he took over the role earlier this month in what has been one of many changes within the club.

"You want to have an instant impact. We did against Porto with the newness, freshness, new voices. It has a really positive effect.

"In the Bournemouth game it felt we flat-lined a bit physically and emotionally.

"It's finding that level of consistency daily and getting the players to produce that level daily. There's been a lot of changes for the players, some of them have had three managers in a very short space of time

"You hope it works straight away but it is difficult to achieve that.

"Ruben Amorim is a good point in case. It took him time but he's gradually getting there now after quite a bit of time. We want to fast-track it, that's our plan. We have to.

"The league table isn't lying, that's where we're at. I've said that to the players."

How to get the best out of Gibbs-White?

Finally, he opened up on Morgan Gibbs-White and how he can get the best out of him this season after a slow start which has seen him score none and assist once in nine Premier League games.

“It’s not just him, we want to get the best out of everyone.

"We want to add our attention to detail, what we feel is relevant to game preparation and performance.

"He’s a terrific professional, he comes in with a smile and wants to work. He's infectious in what he does and enjoys what he does.

"He, among a number of others, have taken to it really well and want to progress and move forward for the team, me, the club and the fans."
