Cunha, 26, and Mbeumo, 25, scored an impressive 35 Premier League goals between them last season, just nine less that Man United’s entire squad.
Both players have joined Ruben Amorim’s side with a lot of expectation following the club’s worst ever league campaign, but their new manager has faith they can continue their goal scoring form.
Speaking to reporters, Amorim said: "They can play as a striker. We have Josh (Zirkzee), we have Rasmus.
“Our focus is to improve the connection between them. I don't know if the position is there for them. They have to work. They have other players that are fighting for that position. But again, I'm really pleased.
"They (Cunha and Mbeumo) proved the qualities that they have. They are really humble, that is really important, and the best thing is that they chose to be here.
“They had other options, Champions League options, they read everything people say about our club at the moment but they chose to be here and that is a key point for me."
