And it's been revealed Gibbs-White called Frank to explain why the move collapsed, reports the Athletic.
The player apologised to Frank, who insisted that wasn't necessary and the pair ended he conversation on positive terms.
Gibbs-White was persuaded to stay and re-sign with Forest after personal intervention by owner Evangelos Marinakis, who flew into England at the time for one-on-one talks with the midfielder.
