Manchester City are close to announcing Enzo Maresca as their new manager after Pep Guardiola departed this summer after over a decade in charge.
Negotiations with Chelsea are close to being concluded as the two clubs negotiate on compensation for the Italian coach who left West London in on New Year’s Day after falling out with the board.
City have reportedly agreed a £10M compensation fee with Chelsea for Maresca who could be unveiled as the club’s next head coach later this week.
Before the announcement is made, talkSPORT and Metro report that Maresca is hoping to sign French right-back Gusto who the media claim is close to leaving the side.
This comes as the Blues are set to sign Marco Palestra as a replacement for Marc Cucurella in what is seen as a huge clear out before new manager Xabi Alonso arrives on July 1st.
Gusto, who has made 134 appearances since his £31M move from France, is first on the transfer list as Chelsea seek around £40M for the Frenchman who is representing his country at the World Cup this summer.
A move for Gusto may have to wait however as England World Cup star Elliot Anderson is City’s top target as the side prepare a third offer after Nottingham Forest rejected their second bid worth £120M.
