Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has ordered club chiefs to drop any pursuit of Robert Lewandowski.

The veteran Barcelona centre-forward, with his contract running down, has been linked with United this past week.

Club directors - and manager Ruben Amorim - see Lewandowski as an ideal mentor for Benjamin Sesko.

But the Mirror says Ratcliffe has blocked the move, despite the Pole's looming Bosman status.

Ratcliffe doesn't want a repeat of past deals like with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bastian Schweinsteiger - and has told management to drop thoughts of a move for Lewandowski.
