Manager Oliver Glasner has said Eberechi Eze won’t play for Crystal Palace again as he edges closer to a move to Arsenal this summer in what is a huge blow for The Eagles who will need to act quickly in replacing him before the transfer deadline in just over a week’s time.
The 27-year-old came close to signing for Tottenham before agreeing to join their North London rivals who can offer him a strong chance at the Premier League title.
"Ebs will not play for us anymore, so it does not make sense to talk about him. It's gone,” Glasner told Channel 5.
“It looks like wishing him all the best for the new club, and for us, it is about bringing more players in, but they will not be allowed to play in the second leg.”
After the signings of Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and now Eze, Arsenal look stronger than ever. However, Palace are left to pick up the pieces and Parish has now stated that his side must move quickly in replacing the England international.
"We will bring in players. It's finding the right ones. It's difficult to replace players like that (Eberechi Eze) and the squad was probably a little bit thin anyway.
"We will try and use the money and try and make ourselves maybe not individually as good but a bit broader, bit of a stronger base and give ourselves a few more options."
Eze did not play in Palace's 1-0 win over Fredrikstad in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night and his move to The Gunners looks to be sealed. Palace must now act quickly in finding a replacement, especially as they seek to rotate their side for European football.
