Left on the bench for their draw at Leeds on Saturday, Salah spoke to reporters afterwards and accused someone inside the club of wanting to push him out. He also declared having "no relationship" with manager Arne Slot.
Pardew said on talkSPORT this morning: "First of all, what is the crime here?
"The crime at the moment is that the manager assumes that for the team, he's better to be on the bench. That's what the manager's done.
"He's made a decision that Mo Salah, for all his stats and records that he's produced for Liverpool, at the moment deserves to be on the bench.
"Mo Salah's reaction to that has been to, and I know this from the training ground actually, that he's been sulking around, hasn't taken it well, been a bit of an issue behind the scenes.
"And that's compounded by him not actually getting on the pitch because if I was the manager, I would probably go the same route. ‘Well, I'm not going to put him on because that would be a bad example to all the other players.’
"Now he goes in the press and he says quotes, and you just use two quotes. So I'm not going to repeat those, but I had four quotes that I think (are) where discipline needs to come in.
"What I mean by that, I think Liverpool should discipline him."
