Leicester playmaker Bilal El Khannouss has been the subject of transfer interest from Crystal Palace who have him high on their transfer wish list.

The 21-year-old Moroccan international could be on the move following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League as the Foxes aim to cash in on the midfielder who registered two goals and three assists in 32 league appearances last season.

Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri states that Palace have placed El Khannouss on their shortlist to replace Eze who has been linked to a number of sides including Arsenal where manager Mikel Arteta greatly admires him.

“EXCLUSIVE: Crystal Palace placed Bilal El Khannouss on their shortlist to replace Eberechi Eze!

“El Khannouss also on #RBLeipzig top list to sub Xavi Simons. RasenBallsport long time admirer of the Moroccan.

“No concrete offer on both side yet.”

El Khannouss joined the Foxes from KRC Genk last summer for a reported €22.5M and is also wanted by Leipzig who are already looking at potential replacements for Xavi Simons who is linked to several top sides.

Former Foxes boss van Nistelrooy praised the playmaker as he spoke to Leicester’s media of El Khannouss last season:

“He’s playing and starting every game and an important player for us with his creativity and his work rate off the ball.

“The challenge for him is, at his young age, pushing himself to finally know where his ceiling is. His potential is there to be a top player in Europe in the Champions League, I think that’s where his potential is.”

The Morocco international, who won the award for Genk’s Player of the Season in 2023/24 is an incredible talent and both Leipzig and the Eagles are in similar positions as they negotiate a deal for him this summer in hopes of replacing either Eze or Simons before the new campaign begins.
