However, as reported by The Standard and The Express, the 25 year old who is desperate to leave and wants a move to Premier League champions Liverpool who have already spent over £300M on new additions to their side this summer.

The Reds know they must sign at least one central defender before the end of the transfer window though after the departure of Jarell Quansah earlier in the transfer window. However, there is interest from rivals Newcastle for the Palace star which could cause problems for manager Arne Slot who is concentrating on signing Alexander Isak despite already signed Hugo Ekitike.

Despite their interest, Journalist Paul Joyce explained that, like Liverpool, there is no desire from the Magpies to meet Palace’s £50M valuation which is seen as too high. With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez unavailable due to illness and injury, Slot may have to rush to keep Palace's price and sign Guehi who will feature against Liverpool in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon.
