Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has opened up about his career and his favourite goal of his entire career.

Giroud joined Arsenal for £13M and went on to score 105 goals and bag 37 assists for The Gunners before leaving for London rivals Chelsea. He became a cult hero in North London and recently returned to France over the summer following a year in America with MLS side LAFC.

The Frenchman is now at Lille and at 39 years old is still finding the back of the net, Giroud has scored a total of 213 goals in 573 games at club level, whilst he also has another 57 at international level, making him France’s top scorer.

However, there is one goal that stands out to him as he admitted to L’Equipe via the Mirror that it will likely never be replicated.

“It’s still the scorpion kick with Arsenal. With all humility, this action, you’ll never see it again,” said Giroud.

"A showman? Not like the geniuses, the magicians, the dribblers like Neymar, the guys who get the crowd on their feet with their moves, but in another way, yes, I am.”

The iconic striker turns 40 next year and admits that he still wants to keep going, much like Cristiano Ronaldo who turns 41 in February and scored a brace for Portugal earlier this week.

"It could be one year plus another, but it could just be one, too," Giroud said. "You can’t have regrets. You have to live in the moment and be ready to stop it all at some point. But 40 is a number that I am aware of.

"But it will be a group decision, with my wife and my family. It is about being reasonable. If I think that I can bring something and if the club are also satisfied with me, we will sit around a table and we’ll see."
