According to the Daily Mail, the meeting is seen as a ‘step in the right direction’ toward reintegrating the striker.
Isak has made it clear he wants to leave Newcastle in his pursuit of a move to Liverpool. Last week, manager Eddie Howe said the saga is ‘coming to an end’ as the club tries to retain their prized asset.
Reports add that Newcastle want the Swede to return to first-team training and feature for them soon, though whether that will happen remains uncertain.
Liverpool’s initial £110 million ($149m) bid for Isak was rejected by Newcastle earlier this month. It remains unclear whether the Reds will come back with an improved offer before the transfer window closes on September 1.
