While they have welcomed the Germany striker over the past 48 hours, Newcastle are going for a second centre-forward in Wolves ace Jorge Strand Larsen.
After last night's 0-0 draw at Leeds United, Howe said: "I’d love to do one more player.
"Just to get the full strength that I think we need. I don’t know what that player looks like, you’re not going to get a position out of me, but I’d love to have one more just to give us the strength in depth I think we need."
Speaking about Woltemade's short-term future, Howe said: "He'll need a period where he adapts and he understands what we ask of him and the test the Premier League will bring him but I think he will score goals and he'll hopefully be a fantastic addition for us.
"He has unique qualities and a game that can really help us and very technically gifted, creative and he is a big presence in the box. Excited for what he can do for us."
