Everton boss David Moyes is delighted with the commitment of supporter groups making efforts to build up their new stadium's atmosphere.

The 1878 group are putting together a fundraiser for flags and banners to be displayed at Bramley Moor.

Moyes said: “I looked at one of the Premier League clubs in Europe recently and I thought the stadium was immense before the game and they’d done great.

“I think it does play a big part in helping and it would be great if we could get that. The flags come down after the start, though, of course, so it’s really important that we keep the atmosphere and the energy up within the stadium.

“It’s been great at the moment and in the main, the team has done really well, which has helped that. We need to keep it big, and I hope the club keeps looking how to improve it and see how, with the supporters, we can keep the atmosphere strong.

“I saw the games at the Club World Cup and the atmosphere from the South Americans was out of this world. It would have put anything in this country to shame.

“So, there are lots of levels that we can improve as a club and make it even better as well. Let’s hope we can keep looking that way and try and improve.”
