Moggi says he doesn't regret allowing a young Henry slip away to London, where he would establish at Arsenal as one of the Premier League's greatest players.
Speaking at the Orlando Ricci Awards, Moggi said from the stage: "I think I've made very few mistakes. One mistake they've stuck on my back is Thierry Henry : anyone who says that doesn't understand football.
"If you have a player in a team whose main focus is attacking the opponent, if you put him in as a counterattacking player, who runs up and shoots, he doesn't contribute to the team's play: he either scores or causes problems, but he creates confusion.
"That's what Henry was like back then. He scored two goals against Roma, some of them beautiful, but he was a counterattacking player. He's changed in the Premier League, but that's part of a player's metamorphosis.
"When you tell me I made a mistake, I reply that I signed (David) Trezeguet. He was a striker who helped the team play. I don't think I bought the wrong players."
