Iraola announced earlier this month that he would leave Bournemouth at the end of the season, once his contract expires.

The Spaniard feels that it's the “right moment” to leave the side, saying:

"It has been an honour to manage AFC Bournemouth, and I am proud of what we have achieved together. I'm thankful to the players and staff that I've worked with, as well as Bill, who have all made my time here so special.

"As for the fans, you have continued to show your fantastic support to myself and the team, and for that I will always be grateful. I feel this is the right moment for me to step away, but I will always carry fantastic memories of this club."

Rose to Bournemouth?

Now, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Iraola will be replaced by Rose, who most recently managed German side RB Leipzig

“Exclusive: Bournemouth are close to appointing Marco Rose as their new manager.

“The Cherries quickly identified Rose as their preferred choice after Andoni Iraola told them he was leaving at the end of the season.

“Barring any late hitches, a formal agreement is expected imminently.”

Rose has been out of work since leaving RB Leipzig in March 2025 but is highly regarded by a number of top clubs including Bournemouth who could reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
