The winger is the son of former Republic of Ireland international Joe O’Cearuill.
BBC Sport says Amorim held talks with Gabriel earlier this week ahead of adding him to his training squad.
The winger watched the opening Premier League match of the season against Arsenal from the directors’ box at Old Trafford on Sunday. He has also been informed he will be training regularly wiht Amorim's squad this campaign.
Gabriel made his full debut for Darren Fletcher's U18 team in victory at Everton on Saturday. However, he will not feature in the FA Youth Cup this season as he is too young.
