Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has admitted that he does not enjoy watching football.

Lammens made the move to Manchester United from Royal Antwerp in September as he replaced Andre Onana who made the loan switch to Trabzonspor in the January window.

The Belgian has flourished under interim boss Michael Carrick and admitted that he is adapting to the “physicality” of the Premier League which has been a struggle so far.

During United’s 1-0 victory over Everton at the weekend, Lammens faced 10 Everton corners and got first contact on five of them; that is the joint most of any goalkeeper in a single Premier League game this season.

Despite his success with the Red Devils, Lammens admits that he rarely watches football as he indulges in other sports to take a break from the beautiful game.

“I don't really, to be honest,” he says. “Everything revolves around football on a daily basis, so you want to switch off a little bit mentally.

“I'm a big sports guy. I love watching other sports and other athletes do their thing, especially how they prepare the game. With the NBA, for example, you can learn a lot from LeBron James.

“I read quite a lot about other athletes and about mentality. There are lots of good books about dealing with adversity, stress or stuff like that, which can also help you in this kind of industry.”

Lammens is only 22 games into his United career after arriving in January and looks to be the real deal under Carrick who has gotten the best out of him.

United face Crystal Palace this weekend as they aim to maintain their spot within the top 4 of the Premier League table which would land them Champions League football.
