Manchester United star Casemiro has described Jamie Carragher’s call for him to step away from top-level football as “disrespectful” ahead of his departure from Old Trafford this summer.

After four years at the Premier League outfit, the former Real Madrid star is expected to leave following the expiration of his contract.

As his exit looms, Casemiro finally addressed the criticism he received from the former Liverpool defender during a difficult 2023-24 campaign, particularly after the Red Devils’ humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

"So... It's your opinion. I respect your opinion. I don't like it because it's disrespectful. It's disrespectful to me," Casemiro said on Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel.

After scoring nine Premier League goals this season, he believes he has silenced many of his critics.

Casemiro leaves Manchester United with both an FA Cup and Carabao Cup title, adding more silverware to an already decorated career.
