Casemiro will leave Man United once his contract expires at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 34-year-old is ready for a new challenge after successfully anchoring the Red Devils' midfield following his move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
In an outstanding individual campaign, Casemiro has plundered nine goals in 33 Premier League outings, becoming a true matchwinner in Michael Carrick's squad.
But with his departure on the horizon, Man United are looking to sign multiple midfielders to replace him, and one of those is Valverde.
According to reports, United are plotting a move for Valverde and see landing the Uruguayan as a chance to take advantage of the ongoing chaos in Madrid.
Casemiro played alongside Casemiro during his time at the Bernabeu and always knew he would become a top midfielder.
Speaking about him in 2020 - when Valverde had just broken into the first-team - the Brazilian waxed lyrical over his talent.
“I said before that Valverde would be one of the best number eights in football in two years,” he told Libero. “I was wrong because he’s achieving it sooner!
“Fede is having a brilliant season and he is one of our most important players. He’s improving after every day, every match.
“For me, he is more of a number eight, not a five. His ability to shoot the ball, his work rate and physicality allow him to be a box to box player, which is unbelievable.
“That doesn’t mean he can’t play as a defensive midfielder – because he can play anywhere – but Fede plays best contributing both offensively and defensively.”
