Manchester City forward Oscar Bobb has opened up on a potential injury he may have picked up on international duty.

The Norwegian was out injured for much of the 2024/25 campaign but has since returned to fitness at the start of this term for manager Pep Guardiola, who spoke earlier this season about happy he was to see him return.

“Now I realise when I saw him in the first half and the second I realise how much we missed him last season,” he said.

“He’s sharp and quick and like Phil (Foden) with his qualities.

“I’m so happy he is back. I don’t know how long it is since he played 90 minutes, maybe one year but he is so strong, so disciplined in defensive issues, incredible threat in small spaces.

“Hopefully he can be healthy. All I ask for him is to be healthy and strong in his head and I’m pretty sure he is going to help us in that position.”

Now, Bobb has featured in the friendly win against Finland and could play against Moldova in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday but was not introduced to the side which led to injury concerns.

The 22-year-old picked up a muscular problem during City’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium prior to the international break and fans were concerned that he would be on the sidelines once again.

However, in a sigh of relief for both fans and Guardiola, the youngster has cooled reports and said the knock should not affect him for this weekend’s clash with fierce rivals Manchester United

“It was nothing," Bobb said of his injury concerns. "I felt something in my thigh, and then it turned out there was nothing."
