Man City convinced they've trumped Liverpool for Guehi signing

The Crystal Palace captain's contract is running down this season, with the Eagles accepting he will leave this summer.

However, the Mirror says City do not want to wait that long and instead are in talks with Palace and Guehi about a £30m deal.

And it's suggested an agreement could be struck in the coming days.

Liverpool, which had an offer of £35m accepted before Palace performed a U-turn on deadline day, remain keen, though have been favouring an end of season Bosman transfer.

Further strengthening City's hand is Guehi's eagerness to play for Pep Guardiola, a manager he has long admired.
