Former Tottenham, Napoli and Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has spoken on the success of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners were stunned at home by Bournemouth at the weekend, losing 2-1, allowing Manchester City to close the gap at the top of the Premier League table to six points.

Arsenal are the favourites to go all the way this season and despite being beaten in the EFL Cup final against City and FA Cup to Southampton, The Gunners are still on track to lift silverware once more under the Spaniard.

Now, Arteta has called for Arsenal to have "no fear" and "pure fire" in a rallying cry ahead of their clash with Sporting as he seeks to send his side to the Champions League Semi Final.

Arsenal could secure the double this season and speaking to Hajper, Llorente believes Arteta could be attractive to several clubs once his spell in North London is over.

“In a very long season every team goes through difficult moments. But I think Arteta’s Arsenal is showing it is one of the best teams in Europe. I don’t remember an Arsenal like this since the Thierry Henry era with Arsene Wenger. So to start with, what he is doing at Arsenal is already incredible.

“For me he is not wasting time. I think he is showing he is a great coach, and I’m convinced he will be able to coach whatever team he wants because when a coach does it well, the offers will rain down.”

Arsenal have been accused of "bottling" the Premier League title race, as they missed the chance to go 12 points clear of City on Saturday. If they are to fail in the league and in Europe then Arteta may depart, but he certainly won’t be short of options.
