Liverpool continued their Premier League title defence with another victory on Monday, beating Newcastle United 3-2 at St James' Park whilst Arsenal battered newly promoted Leeds United 5-0. The two meet at Anfield this Sunday in a game that could greatly affect the title race.
Whilst Liverpool's new right-back Jeremie Frimpong is out with a thigh injury, manager Arne Slot revealed that he will have three top players at his disposal this weekend, who many thought could be a doubt for the clash.
Van Dijk
Slot first confirmed his captain Virgil van Dijk is fit to face The Gunners which will be a huge relief to fans who worried he may have picked up a knock.
“Virgil (van Dijk) is okay, which is maybe the main thing you would question."
Conor Bradley
Next, he spoke on Conor Bradley who will cover for Frimpong in what could be an even shakier defence that had been witnessed against Bournemouth and Newcastle United so far.
“The positive is that Conor Bradley, only had one or two training sessions before the Newcastle game and he has trained all this week.”
Mac Allister
Finally, he opened up on Alexis Mac Allister who was out against The Magpies with an unknown injury with many suspecting his wife was due to give birth.
"There are two days to go. Alexis has started training too. I don’t think we had any injuries coming out of the (Newcastle) game.”
