Gravenberch endured a difficult 12 months in Munich before leaving for Liverpool two years ago.
He recalled to Helden: "I was completely freaking out inside. Luckily, my parents moved to Munich for me. I don't know what would have happened if I had been there all alone. It was really tough mentally.
"Under Julian Nagelsmann, I watched my team play three consecutive 90-minute games. It drove me crazy inside. By winter, I was fed up with it."
Gravenberch's father, Ryan Snr, is also happy that his son's time at Bayern is behind him.
"I think if we hadn't been there with him, he would have fallen into depression," he revealed. "We couldn't have foreseen him going to Liverpool and having coach Arne Slot show him the way. Now that he's settled in, we have to be honest: We've gone from hell to heaven."
