Leeds United have reportedly joined the race to sign Sassuolo defender Tarek Muharemovic.

The 23-year-old was one of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s better players throughout the 2026 World Cup, starting three of their five games before elimination.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds are keen on bringing Muharemovic to Elland Road from Sassuolo this summer.

With Jaka Bijol, Joe Rodon, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Maximilian Wober their only current recognised centre-back and with Daniel Farke playing a back three, additions are needed.

Leeds will face competition for his signature, however, with fellow Premier League sides Sunderland and Bournemouth also keen.

Juventus have 50% sell-on clause included in the deal that took Muharemovic to Sassuolo permanently last summer.
