Leeds United have confirmed the arrival of Noah Okafor on a four-year deal from Italian side AC Milan in what is an impressive transfer.

Okafor’s move to Yorkshire for £18M takes spending by Premier League clubs this summer to a record £2.37bn. The forward, who can play both on the wing and in a central striker role, is the newly promoted side’s ninth summer signing since winning the Championship last season.

A move to Leeds is a dream come true

Okafor bagged seven goals in 54 games for the Italian giants before ending last season on loan at Serie A rivals Napoli. Speaking to the club website, the 25 year old expressed how happy he is to make the move to the Premier League where he hopes to prove himself.

“I think it's an amazing day, I'm really excited.

“As a kid, I dreamed of playing in the Premier League. That's why for me it was quite an easy decision.

“So I said, yeah, my football suits the Premier League, this is like a dream come true. I can't wait to step on the field.

“I heard that the Premier League is the best league in the world, it's so intense. I have loads of friends that played there or are playing there.

“I'm really, really excited. I can't wait, like I said before. I'm also ready for this new challenge.”

Okafor impressed by Leeds fans

He also spoke on Leeds’ relentless supporters and how he cannot wait to feel the atmosphere at Elland Road which he may feel when the side host Newcastle United in a few weeks time.

“(In Dublin) I was like, why are there so many fans in a friendly game? And then I saw on the screen it was like 50,000. So I was like, wow.

“And it was quite loud, but I heard in the stadium (Elland Road), the atmosphere should be crazy.”
