Sunderland's mindset and philosophy

Le Bris first confirmed everyone is fit before being asked about his side's mindset and philosophy since the start of the campaign after many predicted the side to drop straight back to the Championship.

"It's not our approach. We want to express our ideas, our football as a unit and as a club and after that you have a game. And if the opponent is stronger than us, we will respect that but without any regrets at the end."

How do his players adapt so well?

The Sunderland manager was then questioned regarding his team's capacity to fit in with the starting line up after mass changes in the summer transfer window.

"Because we are consistent. The players from last season, when they had to come off the bench, they were ready because they know the system, they have experienced different situations and the connection is very quick.

We have created within the squad a clear idea of how we want to use our players, who might be the starter, who will be the second one, and if you get the opportunity, get ready."

Le Bris honoured to be nominated for manager of the month

Le Bris, Mikel Arteta, Oliver Glasner and Pep Guardiola are all nominated for manager of the month. He says it’s an honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award.

"It's a pleasure because it means that our collective performance is positive at the minute and we want to be competitive in the league.

"It's better to start with confidence and points and the feeling that we can be competitive in the league even if it's tough and every game is different. It's really clear that it is collective work and everyone has their own role, and it's important to value, even the small tasks."

Sunderland must up their game at Old Trafford

Finally, Le Bris opened up on the prospect of playing at Old Trafford and how his side can only control how they play heading into what will be a hard fought clash.

“Being at Old Trafford demands strong personality and strong character.

“I still believe that we'll need to upgrade our performance to be competitive in Manchester. They are strong, create many chances from everywhere, direct play in behind, set pieces, with talented players. Now it’s just a question of click, confidence, circumstances, scenario.

So for us the only thing we can control is our way of playing, the way we want to play this game, to face this challenge, being aware that it will be tough.”
