Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has revealed that he has been impressed with striker Harry Kane and his role in the side.

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham for £86M in the summer of 2023 and has gone on to score an impressive 98 goals in 103 games across all competitions for the German side who have welcomed him with open arms.

The England international has already bagged 13 goals this campaign, having netted 41 goals last season, and has become essential for Bayern manager Kompany since his arrival.

However, despite his goals, Kompany has been highly impressed with how Kane is helping the side in other ways as they fight for another Bundesliga title.

"When a player scores so many goals and then wins his first title, you can't always expect him to help defend, to give his all in every training session.

"Okay, at this absolute top level, maybe. But not everyone can do that. And the fact that Harry, despite all these goals, still helps so much in defence and inspires the others in every training session, of course, makes my job easier.

“But for him, not doing that isn't an option either."

The England captain was surprisingly ranked in 13th place at Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony, which saw Ousmane Dembele take home the big prize despite his efforts for Bayern.

His outstanding performances for the side in both attack and defence have not gone unnoticed, however, as he continues to find success abroad.
