It comes after Tottenham smashed their transfer record for the second time in a week, as Tonali signed from Newcastle United in a deal worth £100 million pounds with the club confirming the signing via their official X account.
"Must be a big signing", Maddison joked.
"Sandro, welcome to Tottenham mate."
The midfielder continued, saying: "The fans pulled me in straight away, and I'll know they'll do the same for you.
"They'll see it in the way you play. The bite, the courage, and the way you step up in the middle of the pitch."
Maddison made just three appearances for Spurs during the 2025/26 campaign, as his side survived a serious relegation scare as they finished 17th in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old's career at Spurs has been hugely impacted by injuries so far. He was out for 254 days and missed 46 games after an ACL tear he suffered in August 2025.
But now Maddison will hope he's finally put his injury troubles behind him and has set his sights on next season and to playing alongside his new teammate Tonali at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
