Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed that watching his former side has become painful.

Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, six points ahead of Manchester City who have a game in hand on the Gunners who are currently feeling the pressure in the final stage of the season.

The Gunners have been criticised for becoming one of the most boring teams to watch in Europe this season and after their 0-0 draw to Bournemouth on Wednesday night, the side are not helping themselves.

That result followed losses to Bournemouth and Manchester City as Arsenal continue to falter. Speaking on The Overlap alongside former Manchester United star Roy Keane, Wright says such performances are hurting him.

"Watching the games, it hurts. There's a pain that's hurting me. It's killing me that I can't feel it.

“I've put so much, invested so much into the manager, the team, the players, everything. And they've got to a place again, and you are just seeing it falling away, you're seeing players making mistakes."

In response to Wright, Keane suggested that a title race is never simple and most teams are never perfect.

"It's not falling away yet. They're top of the table. They're nervous, they look edgy, but they have to get through that. Did you think it was going to be plain sailing? They've been nervous for six months?"

Wright, who won the league in 1997-98, was quick to respond to Keane as he suggested that Arsenal are offering nothing on the pitch at the moment.

"I didn't expect it to be plain sailing Roy, because it's never plain sailing," he responded. "But when you are at the top of the league and you have to beat teams, I'm not seeing anything."
