Arsenal legend Thierry Henry forgot that striker Gabriel Jesus existed as he spoke on the club's depth up front.

Jesus suffered an ACL injury back in January and has been recovering since as manager Mikel Arteta took to the transfer market to bring in Viktor Gyokeres who has had a formidable start at the club so far.

Speaking on

Henry spoke on Arsenal’s squad depth which now includes Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze who arrived with Gyokeres this summer. Henry seemingly forgot Jesus in what was a slip from the pundit, which can be forgiven considering Jesus’ long term absence.

“Right now, I will say that nobody has a team as deep as Arsenal in terms of the quality that they can have. Some teams can give them a good run for the starting XI, but if you look at the team itself, it’s almost two teams. When you see who is on the bench tonight, and you’re still missing Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka…"

Jamie Carragher pointed out that Henry had missed out Jesus and the Frenchman quickly admitted his mistake: "And Jesus, yes (laughs), I even forgot.”

Jesus is now surplus to requirements at Arsenal and although he will return for Arteta over the next few weeks, he is unlikely to feature much under the Spanish head coach over the course of the season.
