Viktor Gyokeres has responded to transfer rumours as links grow between him and Barcelona.

Gyokeres managed 21 goals and three assists from 51 matches for the Gunners as he led the side to their first Premier League title in 20 years last season.

The Swedish star has also picked up one goal and an assist for his national side at the World Cup, helping them progress to the Round of 32 where they face France on Wednesday night.

Now, despite the 28 year old having a contract until 2030, reports have linked him to a La Liga move which includes both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid this summer.

Speaking on such links, Gyokeres said he is proud to be considered a target, but he will remain in North London.

“Of course it’s flattering to see that clubs are interested, but I feel extremely comfortable at Arsenal. After the season we have had, I only have positive feelings.

When asked on how he handles transfer rumours during the World Cup, Gyökeres explained: “Nothing. I’m here, have a fairly important match, and that is the main focus.”

Atletico Madrid have reportedly blocked any potential transfer of Julian Alvarez despite interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. As he seems unlikely to leave and as Barcelona chase Harry Kane, a move for Gyokeres seems very unlikely.
