Arsenal have started to look vulnerable at the top of the Premier League as they continue to drop points. With just two wins from their past five Premier League games, the Gunners will be starting to become nervous as the club slip at the top.
Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City is now just two points, while Aston Villa are only three off them. Speaking to reporters after City’s win over Sunderland, Gvardiol sent a message to Arsenal about maintaining consistency.
"I remember in my first season we were on the top and fighting for the Premier League and you go Fulham away, all the games, you need to win. If you lose or drop points, that's it.
"First of all they have a good team. It's not just them, it's Aston Villa, Chelsea is good. Sunderland two weeks ago were there at the top. It won't be easy and the season is long.
"We're not even at the halfway stage. Still a lot of games to play. Two points behind so we are getting closer. We need to build it up like we have for the last two or three months. We will see at the end. Every game is important, and we need to win every game. It's a big three points and now focus on Wednesday (against Real Madrid)."
Manager Mikel Arteta and his side face the likes of Bayern Munich, Everton, Brentford, Chelsea and Tottenham over the next month in a run of games where 3 points will be tough to come by.
Arsenal have a two-point lead over City and are comfortably seen as favourites for the title, but cracks are appearing in Arteta’s side whose loss to Aston Villa at the weekend could be enough to send the side into a huge downfall.
