Guiu, who has just been recalled from his loan with Sunderland, spoke to Catalan media for the first time today since his departure.
He told Esports RAC1: "I don't regret leaving Barça. In the end, it was something I decided for my career. I think it was the best option, and I still believe it. Now I can enjoy the Premier League and Chelsea.
"It was a difficult decision. Barça gave me everything, it was my home. And in the end, we decided it was the best option. There were a lot of forwards and I wasn't guaranteed to be in the first team."
With the Spain U21 squad this week, Guiu also revealed: "(Chelsea manager Enzo) Maresca called me and told me he had faith in me and the sporting project was incredible. And I don't regret this decision.
"Did I speak to Hansi Flick at that time? No. He sent me a few messages, but I never got around to speaking to him. Honestly. He told me, when we were in the playoffs with the reserve team, that I would do well."
