Kane bagged a brace against the DR Congo on Wednesday night to send the Three Lions to the Round of 16 as they avoided the embarrassment of an early knockout.
The Bayern Munich striker has been incredible for England so far, grabbing 5 goals which leaves him just one behind leader Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at the top of the pile.
Gordon, who assisted both goals in the DR Congo clash, spoke this week about Kane who he believes can easily be compared to arguably the best player on the planet, Messi.
"It's amazing to be around him every day because when you're around someone at the elite level, he's at the very, very top of football.
"He's having a season that's only ever been beat by Leo Messi, the greatest footballer of all time. So that speaks to the level he's playing at.
"It's no accident. It's consistency every day: how hard he works, every finishing drill, he does it with passion, he does it with seriousness. He never, ever misses a beat. It's amazing to be around him. He's definitely an inspiration to all of us.
"As soon as he hit it, I knew it was going in. I was already celebrating, but anyone can score a good goal. Anyone at this level can place the ball in the top corner but it's the consistency that he does. Every day in training, every game is phenomenal. He plays at such a high, high level."
England next face Mexico in the early hours of Monday morning at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City in what is their toughest test so far. Kane must step up once more and players like Gordon will look to him for leadership and the experience needed to progress.
