Fulham and Bournemouth produced a chaotic first half at Craven Cottage as both sides were reduced to 10 men in a match that entered recent Premier League history.

In the fiercely contested encounter, Cherries midfielder Ryan Christie was the first to be sent off in the 41st minute after a dangerous tackle on Timothy Castagne

Referee Andy Madley initially issued only a yellow card, but the decision was upgraded to a red following intervention from the Video Assistant Referee.

The Cottagers were then handed a major setback on the stroke of half-time when Joachim Andersen was shown a straight red card, ensuring both teams headed into the break with 10 men apiece.

The dramatic dismissals meant Fulham versus Bournemouth became only the second Premier League fixture in the 2025-26 season to see both sides receive a first-half red card, following the clash between Manchester United and Chelsea FC in September.

It is also the first time such an occurrence has happened more than once in a single English top-flight campaign since the 2001-02 season.
