Manchester United had been following the case of Viktor Gyokeres for a long time, who had a deal finalised with Arsenal.
The Gunners, however, let negotiations with Sporting drag on, never reaching the amount demanded by the SAD led by Varandas.
Now, according to SIC, Manchester United have entered the scene and are willing to pay the 80 million euros demanded by the Lions to bring Gyokeres to Old Trafford.
Gyokeres, it should be remembered, arrived at Alvalade at the beginning of 2023/24, from English side Coventry, for 20 million euros, signing a contract until 2027/28, with a 100 million euro release clause.
He was the league's top scorer last season, with 39 goals in 33 games in the Liga.
