Kalimuendo left Rennes for Forest this week, penning a deal to 2030.
The striker told the club's website: “I feel a lot of pride; it is an honour. I am very excited to join this club with such history. I am ready for this new adventure, and I feel very motivated.
“We spoke to many clubs, then when my agent mentioned Nottingham Forest’s interest, I was first very honoured, very proud as I knew all about everything they had achieved last season and all that it meant for a Club with such history, so when my agent told me about the interest in me, I told him I was very interested and that I didn’t need much convincing.
“Then, we spoke with the recruitment team, including Edu, and I was immediately sold on the idea and it took me no time at all. To be honest I didn’t hesitate for a second when this contact came about, and I am very happy to be here.”
Right time to make move
The Frenchman added: “This is the right time: I am reaching a certain level of maturity. I’m still relatively young in football terms. I’ve played in Ligue1 for a long time now, and I’ve had some really good games. I also needed something different, to have a new challenge, and right now Nottingham Forest is ticking all the boxes.
“I am raring to go. I can’t wait, because I grew up with all this, from being very young, we’ve all grown up watching big games with these kinds of teams, so today, being able to say that I will get a chance to leave a trace here, it can only be exciting.
"Now it’s up to me to be well prepared, and above all to settle in as quickly as possible, because I know we are talking about one of the best leagues in the world so I will have to raise my level accordingly.”
