Everton are reportedly on course to sign Chelsea’s wantaway striker Liam Delap this summer after offering a contract to the former England U21 international.

Delap completed a £30m transfer switch to Stamford Bridge last summer, following on from Ipswich Town's relegation at the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season, where he bagged an eye-catching 12 goals in his debut top-flight campaign a Portman Road.

However, he’s struggled to replicate that form with the Blues, as Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior both preferred other options as the focal point of their attack in 2025/26.

The 21-year-old managed to score just one EPL goal across the full campaign and Chelsea are ready to let him go with new boss Xabi Alonso not counting on the Manchester City academy graduate.

Despite his lack of prominence at Chelsea, Newcastle United and Everton are both tracking him - but Chelsea will need to lower their £40m valuation to secure an exit – as the Toffees close in.

As per reports from Football Insider, David Moyes has asked the club to consider making a formal transfer offer o move the situation forward, with terms rumoured to be already agreed with his representatives.

No player in Everton’s squad managed double figures in Premier League goals last season with Beto ending on nine and Thierno Barry and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scoring eight each.

Delap is not the only attacker on Moyes’ radar, as he also considers a reunion with his old West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, plus a possible offer for Republic of Ireland star Troy Parrott at AZ Alkmaar – both of whom could cost less than Delap in terms of initial transfer fee.
