Maresca’s side will face Community Shield champions Crystal Palace in their first Premier League game of the season at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (August 17).
They will be without Levi Colwill, however, after the Cobham graduate tore his ACL just days after reporting for pre-season training.
Chalobah, 26, was forced off in their 4-1 friendly win over AC Milan but should be available to play against Palace.
Fofana, who hasn’t played for Chelsea since March due to a hamstring injury, could be set to make his return.
Speaking after the game when asked for an update on Chalobah’s fitness, Maresca joked: “(Chalobah) is ok. It was too hot, so he decided to go out.”
He was then asked about Fofana, to which he responded: “He will be available for Palace,” he confirmed. “We are very happy because he is an important player.”
